At Birkhill House CIC is an animal assisted activity venture in the Scottish Borders, which also offers an array of modern and traditional crafting opportunities. The focus at Birkhill House is on wellness and mindfulness – taking a moment out to be compassionate and nurture the creative side in all of us. We can tailor animal assisted activity or crafting sessions to the needs of individuals or groups and can also provide combined animal assisted activity and crafting sessions. In addition, there are horticultural and woodland opportunities for groups and individuals keen to spend time out of doors.

Beyond Earlston provide community-based youth work opportunities to young people aged 12-18 in the catchment of Earlston High School. Border Women’s Aid

BWA currently provide support to women aged 16+ experiencing/recovering from impact of domestic abuse. Support is provided to women staying in our safe accommodation and on an outreach basis either 1:1 or group sessions. Their groups sessions are a recognised domestic abuse programme, Own My Life. BWA are planning to develop their youth work in the Scottish Borders. Their aim is to deliver prevention sessions to youths. The aim is to encourage thinking and increase knowledge and recognition of relationship abuse in young people. The sessions will be interactive and age appropriate for the youths attending.

BANG (Borders Additional Needs Group) is an outreach service for parents, carers, and disabled children with rare, complex and additional needs. BANG hosts the Branching Out Youth Group for young people aged 14-19.

Borders in Recovery

Borders In Recovery run Recovery Cafes Every Weekday across the Borders and a Breakfast Club on Saturday Mornings (Galashiels), we also run Peer Support Groups and a Music Group. They have SMART Recovery Groups coming Soon! They also have a family support peer group, this is for family members impacted by a loved one’s substance use, where we have 1:1 support and complimentary therapies available! All of their cafes and groups are free, everyone is welcome, so why not pop along to your nearest café and join them!
